SSRH provides SSSD with COVID-19 vaccination
1/25/2021
This past week Siloam Springs Regional Hospital worked alongside Siloam Springs School District to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to personnel at the schools as part of the Phase 1-B vaccination distribution plan which began Jan. 18, 2021. According to the Arkansas Department of Health, education workers including K-12, child care workers and higher education personnel were included in Phase 1-B.
“We’re happy to stand alongside our educators and support them by providing the vaccine,” said Adam Bracks, chief executive officer at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. “Every day we see teachers and staff members working hard during this pandemic to keep our children safe while educating them at the same time. The start of Phase 1-B has given our hospital the opportunity to help.”
Siloam Springs Regional Hospital provided 298 doses in a vaccination clinic setting at Siloam Springs Middle School’s Panther Arena.
“We had a great turnout,” said Maria Wleklinski, chief nursing officer at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. “As a parent, it means a lot to know that our schools are focused on keeping our children safe and healthy. And it’s truly been a pleasure to be able to give back to our community.”
While Northwest Health no longer has first dose vaccines available as the vaccination supply is limited in our region, if an individual has received a first vaccination dose from Northwest Health – we have planned to have a second dose available. Those interested in availability may check for updates on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/NWHealthAR.
