Two Northwest Health hospitals earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety, for fall 2025 — Northwest Medical Center — Springdale and Siloam Springs Regional Hospital.
This national distinction recognizes the health system’s achievements in protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital.
Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
“Earning an ‘A’ grade means Northwest Medical Center — Springdale and Siloam Springs Regional Hospital made a true commitment to put patient safety first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
“An ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group reflects the dedication and accountability our teams bring to every patient who walks through our doors,” said Kory Browning, chief executive officer of Northwest Medical Center — Springdale. “I’m extremely proud of our team for earning this recognition and for the high-quality care they provide to families in Northwest Arkansas.”
These ratings highlight Northwest Health’s continued focus on quality improvement and patient safety across the region.
“This achievement represents the commitment of every clinician, nurse and support team member at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital,” said Dale Humphrey, chief administrative officer of Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. “Our patients trust us during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives, and this ‘A’ grade reinforces that their safety is always our top priority.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
