SPRINGDALE – Craig Levoy, M.D., board certified in family medicine, recently joined the active medical staff of Northwest Health as medical director of the Community Quality Alliance (CQA). Dr. Levoy also will be accepting new patients at Northwest Medical Plaza – Bentonville located at 601 SW Regional Airport Blvd. in Bentonville.
As medical director of the CQA, Dr. Levoy will be working with the Northwest Health team, under the guidance of the executive director and board of trustees, to support its network of providers by helping achieve the clinical goals and priorities of the CQA.
“Clinically Integrated Networks, like the CQA, are organizations that have an amazing potential to impact the quality of care delivered in their communities by bringing health care providers together to form best-practices and institute quality goals,” he said. “I look forward to working with our team to further our mission. I am optimistic that our work will create a positive impact on the lives of our community members by elevating the quality of health care.”
“We’re delighted to have Dr. Levoy join us not only in a medical director role, but also as a practicing physician in our clinics,” said Chris York, market chief executive officer at Northwest Health. “We know he’s going to make a positive impact on our community’s health and we’re excited that he will be able to care for individuals on a one-on-one basis in Bentonville. Dr. Levoy brings a unique skill set to this area and we can’t wait for the community to meet him.”
Dr. Levoy recently moved to Northwest Arkansas from St. Petersburg, Fla., where he practiced medicine at Bayfront Health Medical Group and also served as medical director at Orlando Health West Medical Group.
Committed to caring for all ages – pediatric, adolescent, adult and senior – he offers preventive health for men and women including LGBTQIA+ care, HIV medicine, STI and PrEP/PEP treatment and chronic disease management including diabetes, thyroid issues, hypertension, heart disease, high cholesterol, COPD and asthma.
Drawn to the sciences at a young age, it was a medical experience that sparked Dr. Levoy’s interest in becoming a doctor.
“As an adolescent, I had an illness that required multiple hospitalizations,” he said. “I was inspired by the amazing physicians and nurses that helped not only me, but my entire family, through the ordeal. I dedicated myself to becoming a physician at that time.”
And, it’s caring for people that makes being a physician so fulfilling for him now.
“I most enjoy and value the relationships that I am able to develop with my patients,” he added. “As a family medicine physician, I feel honored and privileged to be able to take care of them through all stages of life, and I hope to continue my life’s work of treating patients as I would want to be treated – with compassionate and evidence-based care focused on achieving individualized health outcomes.”
Dr. Levoy received his medical education at University of South Florida – Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa. He completed his family medicine residency at Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg, Fla.
