Ribbon-cutting Ceremonies Celebrate New Physicians at Northwest Heart and Vascular Institute

With the arrival of cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon Frank Schmitt, M.D., who has joined Dr. Clyde Redmond, ribbon-cutting ceremonies are planned to celebrate the opening of Northwest Heart and Vascular Center clinics in Springdale, Bentonville and Siloam Springs. The clinics are affiliated with Northwest Health.
The Springdale clinic ribbon-cutting ceremony – done in partnership with the Springdale Chamber of Commerce – is set for Wednesday, May 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Jones Center medical office building, Suite 403, on the Northwest Medical Center-Springdale campus.
The Bentonville clinic ribbon-cutting ceremony – done in partnership with the Greater Bentonville Chamber of Commerce – is set for Wednesday, May 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2900 NW Medical Center Parkway, Suite 240, in Bentonville.
The Siloam Springs clinic ribbon-cutting ceremony – done in partnership with the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce – is set for Thursday, May 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 603-2 N. Progress Ave., Suite 400, in Siloam Springs.
The open house events will include hors d’oeuvres, tours of the facility and an opportunity to meet and speak with Northwest Health’s two newest cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons: Dr. Redmond, who joined Northwest Health last fall, and Dr. Schmidt, who joined the organization earlier this year.
The doctors specialize in:
- Treatment of coronary artery disease
- Peripheral vascular disease
- Vascular surgery
- Esophageal cancer
- Lung cancer
- Vascular conditions including aneurysms and carotid artery disease
Dr. Redmond is a board-certified cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon with more than 20 years of experience. Dr. Redmond completed his medical education and a residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He then completed a fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at Ochsner Clinic, also in New Orleans.
Dr. Schmidt is a board-certified cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon with more than 25 years of experience. Dr. Schmidt completed his medical education at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He then completed a residency at Emory University in Atlanta, and a fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
