1/27/2020
(SPRINGDALE, Ark.) Jan. 28, 2020 – Northwest Medical Center - Bentonville is offering a free seminar on robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from Noon to 1 p.m. The featured speaker is Dr. Stephen Hudson, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in robotic-assisted joint surgery. The surgical robot will be on display at the seminar, giving attendees a more in-depth look at how the robotic technology can benefit the patient when utilized by a trained surgeon.
To register for the free seminar, at which lunch will be available, people may call 479-757-LIFE (5433).
The seminar will cover the advances in orthopedic surgery and how use of the robotic technology can help decrease both pain and recovery times after surgery. The new technology transforms the way joint replacement surgery is performed, enabling patients to have a more predictable surgical experience with increased accuracy.
Northwest Health is the first – and the only – hospital in Northwest Arkansas that currently offers these specific robotic-assisted partial and total knee procedures.
With this new technology, each patient can be provided with a personalized surgical experience based on their specific diagnosis and anatomy. Using a virtual 3D model, the robotic system allows surgeons to personalize each patient’s surgical plan preoperatively before entering the operating room. During surgery, the surgical plan can be validated and surgeons can make any necessary adjustments while guiding the robotic-arm to execute that plan.
