Northwest Senior Health Centers

We Concentrate on What's Important. You.

Older adults, regardless of their current health, have a common desire to feel good in order to lead an independent and fulfilling life. That's why our goal is to provide the best healthcare possible and a wide range of Senior Services for adults over the age of 65.

Northwest Senior Health Centers treat more seniors than any other healthcare provider in Arkansas. We are unique in that we staff our senior centers with geriatrics specialists. All of our geriatricians are fellowship trained and board certified or eligible in geriatric medicine.

We know your first Northwest Senior Health appointment won't be your last.

Your First Senior Health Appointment

At Northwest Senior Health Centers, initial consultations average a full hour, so you know you are in good hands from your very first appointment. In addition, our senior health clinics are staffed with a social worker who works with your healthcare providers to ensure both your clinical and personal needs are being met. Together, they work to help you maintain good health and lead a fulfilling life.

Senior Fall Assessment

Fatal falls by seniors jumped 55% from 1993 to 2003 to become the leading cause of fatal injuries among Americans 65 and older, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported today. Nearly 1.8 million seniors were treated in the emergency department for nonfatal injuries from falls in 2003, and more than 460,000 were hospitalized.

“Fall death rates have increased faster than fall injury rates,” said Judy Stevens, an epidemiologist in CDC’s Injury Center who authored the report. “In large part, this is because people are living longer, and many of our seniors now are older and frailer. They need our help to prevent potentially fatal fall injuries.” The rate of non-fatal falls was 48% higher for women than men over the 10-year period, while men were more likely to die from falls than women.
