Hundreds of physicians serving Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley are now out of network with UnitedHealthcare
8/1/2017
(SPRINGDALE, AR) –Aug 1, 2017— As of August 1, 2017, Northwest Health physicians became out of network for all patients with United commercial (employer-sponsored), individual, and Medicare Advantage health plans.
These physicians are a vital part of the region’s access to high-quality care. This issue goes beyond healthcare providers, a health plan, and its members. It’s a matter that impacts our entire community.
“We’ve made numerous attempts to reach an agreement with United, but despite our best efforts, they remain unwilling to compromise,” said Sharif Omar, CEO, Northwest Health.
“Patient care is our top priority, and we value our relationship with United, which is why we will continue to do all that we can to reach a resolution that restores our patients’ in-network benefits with their Northwest physicians.”
It’s important to know that Northwest Health hospitals and other facilities are not currently affected, but face the possibility of becoming out of network with United on November 1, 2017.
Patients are encouraged to visit www.StandUpToUnited.com, to find out if their physician is affected and to learn more about what they can do.
