Most Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab in Arkansas
Long the leader in cardiac health care in Northwest Arkansas, Northwest Health System now raises cardiac diagnosis and treatment to a whole new level with the introduction of our exclusive cardiac catheterization lab featuring an advanced Philips Allura Xper FD20 imaging system, the only one of its kind in the state.
As the Philips system provides sharper X-ray images, reduced radiation exposure, and faster imaging times, patients receive a faster and more accurate diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease than ever before. This new level of quality and detail to images allows safe and effective alternatives to surgery for shorter hospital stays, reduced recovery times, less pain (no large incisions) and minimal surgical scarring.
Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Michael Green said, “The advanced technology in our Cardiac Cath lab allows us to detect disease that would have been missed in the past with conventional equipment. We used to have to look at the heart, a 3D object, as a 2D image. Now we are able to instantly see multiple angles and develop the best game plan to treat our patients individually.”
Some unique features of the lab include:
- Exclusive high-resolution technology delivering superior image quality
- A 3D reconstruction of the heart
- Decreased radiation exposure; increased overall image quality
- Unique “StentBoost” feature improving visualization of stents in coronary arteries
- Instant 3D imaging when integrated with our new 64 multi-slice CT scanner
“This imaging system is the best in the area,” said Interventional Radiologist Dr. Douglas Elliot. “With it we are able to see fine detail and can often provide non-surgical alternatives to patients that wouldn’t have been possible before.”
Cardiac Cath lab patient Joe Conner of Springdale said, “I was amazed at just how simple my procedure was. The people at the hospital, well, they just took good care of me.”
