Northwest Medical Center Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center
More than 3.5 million Americans suffer from wounds that may not heal after months, or even years, of traditional treatment. Chronic wounds are often painful and upsetting and when associated with diabetes or poor circulation, they can be very difficult to heal.
It’s important to diagnose chronic wounds early so they can be treated promptly. And that’s exactly what the doctors and specialists at Northwest Medical Center Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center are here to do. A specially trained team of doctors, nurses and technologists provide comprehensive, cost-effective wound care to patients with nonhealing wounds.
Wound Care Treatment
On a patient’s first visit, the wound healing team will evaluate the wound , medical history and general health. Depending on the origin of the wound, special tests may be needed to provide us with important information about the flow of blood, tissue oxygenation and whether or not infection is complicating the healing process. All tests can be done at Northwest Health System.
Once test results are in, our wound healing team, in concert with your primary care doctor, will develop a specialized treatment program. The program may involve regular visits to the center in order to provide treatment, follow progress or make necessary changes in the treatment program. Patients will also be instructed on in-home wound care, dressing changes and ways to protect from further skin breakdown.
