Clinical Pastoral Education
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is theological and professional education for ministry in today’s world. Women and men in CPE:
- Learn by reflecting on their pastoral and personal experiences
- Learn to provide spiritual care and assessment in a variety of settings
- Learn to integrate theology and experience
- Learn to work with an interdisciplinary team in providing pastoral care to individuals, families, and staff in crisis
- Increase their self and interpersonal awareness in order to enhance their spiritual care
- Learn to use the action/reflection/action model of adult education and set personal and professional learning goals
- Learn with peers and a qualified supervisor
- Participate in a program that is nationally accredited by the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP)
