Balance Training
Rehab in the Water Northwest Rehab has been providing Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation at the Schmeiding Center and at the Agility Center, the first aquatic rehab pool in Benton County. Patients often see faster improvements and tolerate more activity in the aquatic setting due to a decrease in stress on the body in the pool vs. land-based exercise. Aquatic programs are especially beneficial for patients who have balance problems, arthritis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, joint replacement, neck and back pain and orthopedic dysfunction.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Treatments is specialized for women and men who have urinary or bowel incontinence and/or leakage. Treatment may consist of biofeedback, pelvic floor muscle strengthening, and bladder retaining.
Lymphedema Lymphedema is swelling usually in the extremities that is high protein in nature and a result of damage to or loss of lymph nodes and/or lymphatic vessels. Treatment is specific and individualized by a certified lymphedema therapist and may consist of manual lymphatic drainage or massage, compression and exercise.
Northwest Wellness Patients Northwest Wellness focuses on patients with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular limitations. These programs include exercise, education, risk reduction guidance, evaluations and self-empowerment. This total health management program is the essence of a wellness lifestyle. Based on the needs of patients, classes will be organized that may include any number of topics on health and wellness. In this supportive environment, patients will develop the confidence and skills to function independently and manage their health conditions. Topics of group classes might include health screenings, land or water-exercise instruction, nutritional consultation, risk assessment and intervention, and more. Wellness programs include balance and fall prevention, life after joint replacement and general strengthening.
Getting Started To participate in Northwest Wellness programs you must be referred by your physician. Based on your individual needs, your physician and therapist can determine which programs will be most beneficial for you.
