CLINICAL PASTORAL EDUCATION

Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is theological and professional education for ministry in today’s world. Women and men in Clinical Pastoral Education:

  • Learn by reflecting on their pastoral and personal experiences
  • Learn to provide spiritual care and assessment in a variety of settings
  • Learn to integrate theology and experience
  • Learn to work with an interdisciplinary team in providing pastoral care to individuals, families, and staff in crisis
  • Increase their self and interpersonal awareness in order to enhance their spiritual care
  • Learn to use the action/reflection/action model of adult education and set personal and professional learning goals
  • Learn with peers and a qualified supervisor
  • Participate in a program that is nationally accredited by the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP)
